(University of Trier, 2001), PhD in Computer Science (University of Trier, 2006), Research Associate at the System Software and Distributed Systems Group (University of Trier, 2001 - 2005), Visiting Scientist at the Laboratoire d'Informatique Fondamentale (University of Lille, 2005), Assistant Professor at the Mathematics and Computer Science Department (University of Southern Denmark, 2006 - 2008), Temporary Academic Councillor in the field of Computer Networks (University of Paderborn, 2008 - 2009), Junior Professor in the field of Large Wireless Networks (University of Paderborn, 2009 - 2012), Professor with the research area Computer Networks (University of Koblenz-Landau, since 2012).

Research focus: wirelessly networked systems, especially mobile systems. A holistic approach of modelling and performance evaluation, algorithmic implementation under limited resources up to prototypical realisation and practical evaluation in the research laboratory as well as in the context of field studies is pursued. The working method is interdisciplinary, currently using control engineering, automatic verification, stochastics, as well as in cooperation with practitioners in the context of industry-sponsored research.
